Grants and Fellowships
Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) Honors Program
The mission of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute is "to educate
for liberty." As part of that effort, each year, ISI selects a small
number of the nation's most talented undergraduates to participate in
a yearlong program of educational enrichment.
Intellectual Retreat
Students selected as ISI Honors Fellows will attend a weeklong, expenses-paid,
summer colloquium to explore the major values and ideas of the Western
patrimony. Examining our civilization's intellectual roots, students will
engage in debate and discussion led by outstanding faculty in the humanities
and social sciences.
Mentoring
Fellows receive continual direction from their Faculty Mentors during
the academic year through participation in small seminars and online discussions
about both permanent questions and contemporary concerns.
Academic Community
ISI Honors Fellows and their Mentors engage throughout the year in an
online discussion about both permanent questions and contemporary concerns.
In this way, the conversations begun at the summer intellectual retreat
can continue, and Honors Fellows have the opportunity to develop intellectual
friendships among a diverse group of the nation's most promising young
thinkers.
Career Development
Faculty Mentors and ISI staff will provide one-on-one professional assistance
to the Honors Fellows, including information about internships, job opportunities,
graduate and professional programs, and related concerns. ISI Honors Fellows
will also attend a Career Development Seminar, designed to help prepare
them for future positions of leadership.
ISI Library of Conservative Classics
ISI Honors Fellows will receive a large collection of free books and journals
throughout the year.
