Washington and Lee University may nominate no more than two candidates annually, and applications for the nomination process must be submitted by mid-February. Nominees must complete their applications by the middle of March.

Cooke Fellowships provide up $30,000 to pay for tuition, room and board, fees, and books for one year. A second year of funding may be obtained through a reapplication process. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
