Howard Hughes Medical Institute Predoctorial Fellowships in Biological Studies

These fellowships are awarded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute for full-time study toward a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree in the biological sciences. Awards are for three years, with extension possible for two additional years of full support. Fellowship awards provide an annual stipend of $14,500 and a $14,000 annual cost-of-education allowance.

Fellows may choose as their fellowship institution any U.S. or foreign institution of higher education offering advanced degrees in the biomedical sciences, under the following restrictions: fellows who are US citizens or nationals may study in the US or abroad, while those who are not US citizens or nationals may study only at a US institution.
